Ayra Starr Reaches for the Cosmos, Releasing Highly Anticipated Album “Starrgirl”

Ayra Starr, an superstar hailing from Nigeria, released a 16-track album on August 14, 2026. Her hits like “Where Do We Go,” “Tornado,” “Rush,” and “Gimme Dat,” earned her global attention and positioned her for this project. 

Ayra has garnered acclaim in a short timeframe. She scored two GRAMMY-nominations, for “Rush”  and “Gimme Dat” (featuring Wizkid), respectively. Ayra is a five-time MOBO Award nominee, securing back-to-back victories and becoming the first female artist in 16 years to win Best African Music Act. In 2026, she also picked up a BET Award for Best International Act, and became the first African female artist to have two songs hit 500 million Spotify plays.

“Starrgirl” is not defined by Ayra’s propensity for breaking barriers, or even by genre. The album blends musical styles, each connected by the thrumming beat of Ayra’s creative production vision, and her pure magnetism. Ayra’s tracks inspire visions of crowded dancefloors and bodies pressed together, moved by music under bright lights.

The album is a star-studded affair, with features from big names across genres. ZAYN, Leon Thomas, Wizkid, Theodora, and Danny Ocean all lend vocals on tracks.
